The Graduation Prom of High School in different Country

The graduation dance party of high school maybe originated in the United States, but it comes from European traditional affairs.

In England, high school graduation party is called “Debutante’s Ball“.

In Ireland, this tradition can be called “” The Deb”, It can also be found in Australia and New Zealand.

In Austria, they call the prom is the “Maturaball “

In Germany, the equivalent of the Graduation Prom  is Abifeier.

In Sweden , they call this envent is “Studentbalen “

In Poland which they call it “Studniówka”.

These cultures and names are may be little different but the events are very similar to the American high school Graduation prom party.

Nowadays there are many countries which developed this custom when the saw the success it had in America. For example in Colombia, Malaysia, Pakistan, India, Slovenia, Slovakia, Peru, Chile, Brazil, Lithuania, Finland, Egypt, Vietnam, Turkey and Argentina. The high school students have the freedom to party as we do. It’s a small start, but it is a good start.

While preparing for prom this year, think of all the students around the world that do exactly the same as doing:

No matter what country you come from or what language you speak, the things you only need to do is have a good time and enjoy the company of friends at this great prom night.
